We do. We are the Friends of Daley Ranch, an all-volunteer non-profit dedicated to the conservation of this stunning preserve in Escondido, California. With over 25 miles of trails on 3,150 acres of historical ranch lands and undisturbed native habitats, there is a lot to love about Daley Ranch:
Dear Friends of Daley Ranch,
We are sad to report that the Friends of Daley Ranch annual picnic event has been postponed. We were unable to host our traditional event on Sunday, March 26 due to ongoing construction in the Ranch House area by SDG&E, which is in the process of replacing a large natural gas pipeline right down the middle of Ranch House Road. The weather made the entire area very muddy and even dangerous for folks to be around. We will let you know as soon as we can arrange an alternative date for our event. Thank you for your kind understanding of this difficult last-minute decision. In unity, The Friends of Daley Ranch Board
Looking for volunteers to work on Daley Ranch Trails
The San Diego Mountain Biking Association (SDMBA) in partnership with the City of Escondido has formed a volunteer Trail Crew program at Daley Ranch. The intent of the Trail Crew program is to have a hardy group of committed volunteers that would like to do trail work at Daley Ranch. The team is. small and agile with members trained and approved to complete trail maintenance work by themselves or in small groups.
If you think this might be something that you’re interested in being part of we’d like to hear from you. The requirements are pretty simple and it gets you out making the trails you love a better experience for everyone.
The only requirements are to be a SDMBA member and a City of Escondido volunteer with required background check.
If you are interested in the Trail Crew program email Scott Hansen at Daley Ranch SDMBA Trail Liaison

Interpretive signage installation delayed by red tape
The 12 informational signs showcasing Daley Ranch’s birds, plants, animals, habitat, Native American heritage and history were all manufactured and placed in the Ranch House garage as of November, 2022. Also stored there are the 12 sturdy metal hardware mounting brackets for the signs. Although the project has been ready to install since November, FODR is still awaiting final City approval to do so. At this time, the City has not provided an anticipated timeline for installation. FODR will keep its members informed of any future progress.
