See the ranch house and celebrate!
Lunch is ‘on us’ Sunday, Nov. 8
Viewing the interior of the exquisite ranch house is the star attraction at FODR’s lunch celebration event on Sunday, November 8 from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m. This timing coincides with the monthly opening of the ranch house on each “Second Sunday.” Everyone is invited, including FODR members and non-members, families and guests, and the general public.
Docents from FODR and the City will be present to provide historic details and photographs of the old ranch, the Daley family, and the recent renovation of the ranch house. Built about 1925, the house features a great room with all original materials. These include clear redwood walls and beams, blacksmithed light fixtures, wavy-glass windows, a great stone fireplace, an interior balcony, and oak flooring.
FODR is sponsoring this event to showcase the ranch house, to thank our loyal members, to welcome new members, and to celebrate our successful programs.
An optional “nature” hike will begin at 9:30 a.m. led by FODR docent Rick Paul. Wear sturdy shoes and bring water. Meet at the main La Honda entrance to join Rick.
FODR will provide complimentary lunch, including beverages. The ranch house opens at 11 a.m. and the lunch and program will start at noon. Guests may hike in on the one-mile paved ranch house road, which begins at the main La Honda entrance parking lot. For those guests who are unable to hike, or who would prefer transportation, FODR will provide vehicles to shuttle in guests beginning at 11 a.m.
You must RSVP!
Because FODR is buying lunch and beverages, and because we need numbers for those who need transportation, it is vital that you RSVP no later than November 2. We prefer that you email us at firstname.lastname@example.org. Include your name, the total number of guests in your party, and whether you will need motorized transportation. If you cannot use email, please rsvp to FODR Board Member Colleen Mackinnon at 760-480-1917.
See you soon for a rewarding and tasty time!
