VCTA Daley Ranch Hike from Cougar Pass

Join the Valley Center Trails Association for a moderate to strenuous 5 mile hike in the Daley Ranch. We will follow the Cougar Ridge – Engelmann Oak – Bobcat trails with majestic oaks and great views to Valley Center and Palomar. There is at least one and a half miles of uphill and some loose gravel on the down hills. Walking sticks are highly recommended.
Bring water, sun protection and wear sturdy boots or hiking shoes. Dogs on leashes are allowed. Everyone is welcome. There is no charge and preregistration is not required.
Directions to meeting place:
Meet at Cougar Pass Trailhead (27072 Cougar Pass Rd, Escondido, CA 92026)
Allow 30 minutes from the VC Community Center. Take Lilac Rd to Old Castle Rd. At Light turn Left on to 395/Champagne Blvd. Go 4 miles turn Left onto Mountain Meadows Rd. Continue straight onto Hidden Meadow Rd. At end go Left on to Granite Ridge – make Right onto Meadow Glen Way E. At next “T” intersection turn Right onto Cougar Pass Road which becomes a dirt road. Parking area is on the right.
Carpool information: Meet at the Community Center on Lilac Road before 7:45am to car pool.
Heavy rain during 24 hours before hike or steady rain one hour in advance of start time cancels hike. Cancellation will be posted on VCTA Facebook page
