Sunday, April 22, 2018, 8:30 AM Palomar Mountain

Join us for a moderate hike in Palomar Mountain State Park. This beautiful 4.5 mile route will start with the Doane Nature trail and then head up the Myer’s fire road. We will gain about 900 feet in 1 1⁄2 miles. You will be hiking at an elevation of 5,000 feet which also adds a challenge. There are several stream crossings and walking sticks are recommended. Bring water, sun protection and wear sturdy shoes. No dogs are allowed.

NOTE: Self-pay parking fee per vehicle of $10.00 ($9.00 Senior 62+) cash only. To avoid the fee, you can arrange car pools on the Valley Center Trails Facebook Page.

Directions to meeting place: Allow 50 min from VC. Meet at the Doane Pond Parking Lot inside park. Take 76 east turn left at S Grade Rd (S6). At top of grade take Left and another quick left onto S7. Pay fee at booth. At stop sign turn Right. At next intersection turn R (toward camps) Take Right into Doane Pond Day Use area parking lot.

Heavy rain during 24 hours before hike or steady rain one hour in advance of start time cancels hike. Cancellation will be posted on VCTA FaceBook page
