By Reservation Only! Hike Santa Margarita Ecological Reserve!
Friday, Feb. 11, 2022 – Hike begins promptly at 8:00 am
This 6.5 mile hike will be led by an Ecological Reserve docent in an area not open to the public. (Note: this is not the Santa Margarita River Trail Preserve, a different area which is open to the public.) The hike is on a dirt road with several challenging hills and a 1400’ total elevation gain and loss. The hike winds through an avocado orchard, oak woodlands, chaparral, and finally down into the riparian area of the Santa Margarita River. This hike has been arranged by the Valley Center Trails Association. You need not be a member, but to participate you must contact Trail Master Anita Noone at email@example.com by Wed., Feb. 9. You will receive instructions regarding the meeting place by email after you reserve your spot. Plan on 25 minutes to drive from the 15 Freeway/Mission Road off-ramp to the Reserve trailhead in Fallbrook.
