Want to learn the basics of animal tracking?

The Daley Ranch Tracking Team in conjunction with the San Diego Tracking Team is pleased to announce a FREE Wildlife Survey Volunteer training class. This one-day class will prepare you to participate in surveys that monitor the wildlife in major open space preserves and other critical areas, including Daley Ranch.

Topics include basic recognition and identification of animal tracks and other signs, introduction to track patterns and gaits, wildlife journaling, an overview of the survey protocol, and more! You will get plenty of time in the field (“dirt time”) and you will receive a number of valuable reference materials that are yours to keep

The class is Saturday, July 26, and runs from 8 am to 2 pm, at the historic Los Penasquitos Preserve Ranch House in Rancho Penasquitos (San Diego). Dress appropriately for spending time outdoors and bring a sack lunch. Pre-registration is requested to reserve your spot and materials packet. Email info@sdtt.org or call 760.715.4102.

The San Diego Tracking Team also offers a three-part Tracker/Naturalist class series for those who wish to continue their tracking education.

The next series starts September 17. Visit sdtt.org for more information.
