Members present: Fred Woods, Jerry Harmon, Dick Althouse, Mike Whalen.
The meeting was called to order at 7:00 PM.
The minutes from the September FODR meeting were approved. Mike made the motion to approve. Jerry seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
There was no Treasurerís Report submitted.
Mike had collected $52.00 from the Iron Ranger and Fred submitted $2.00
from a Plant Guide donation at the event on Tuesday, for a total of
donations of $54.00 this month.
We discussed the current progress of the Utility Building Project.
Dick was joined by a work party of at least 10 volunteers.
The progress is very
impressive with the subfloor and wall studs in place. We are all extremely grateful for those who volunteered their time and effort to bring the Foremanís
Residence building to this impressive stage of reconstruction. We are now looking for some financial donations to continue with this project. Dick has
already gone through almost all of the $1000.00 we had approved last month. There is $165.13 remaining. We approved another $1000.00 to enable
Dick to purchase more materials to continue the construction. Dick has obtained City approval for the roof construction. The plan is to install the roof
shingles and then place plywood on top to provide the sheer strength that is required. Kenneth Rice of the Sikes Adobe Farmstead has offered to provide
the tar paper needed for the roof construction. Mike will contact Kenneth regarding his generous offer. We have a goal of getting the building weather
resistant by having the roof completed prior to the start of the rainy season, hopefully by mid-January at the latest. Mike made the motion to spend
$1000.00 and Jerry seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
The next topic was the Memorial event at Daley Ranch scheduled for this
Sunday honoring the memory of Sally Thomas and Irene OíNeil.
We went over
the number of family members who were going to attend, transportation, food for lunch, and the tour of the Ranch House after lunch. There will be
approximately 30 family members who will be in attendance, and of those there are 5 who will need transportation from the La Honda gate to the site of
the Memorial benches. Mike and Fred will each provide transportation for anyone who would prefer to be driven to the sites. Jerry will order and pick up
the sandwiches for lunch, Fred will provide the water and soft drinks, and Mike will provide some chocolate chip cookies and will bring a cooler. We
discussed spending $300.00 for the lunch. Mike made the motion to approve the lunch cost, and Dick seconded the motion. The motion passed
unanimously. We will meet at the La Honda entrance at 9:30 with the intention to begin the Memorial bench dedication at 10:00. After the bench
dedication we will proceed up the Ranch House for lunch and attend a guided tour of the Ranch House that will be presented by a Daley Ranch Ranger.
The meeting was adjourned at 8:20
The next meeting will be at the Jimís house on November 20th at 6:00 pm.
Respectfully submitted in the absence of Board Secretary Rick Mercurio
