Present: Fred Woods, Rick Paul, Jerry Harmon, Colleen Mackinnon, Jim Schafer
Minutes: Jim moved to approve the minutes from the September meeting. Jerry seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
Treasurer’s Report: Rick P had a printed treasurer’s report on hand.
Quarterly Newsletter: Fall newsletter hard copies have been printed and mailed. Appears that no one at the meeting has received the email version. Colleen volunteered to follow up with Don Piller regarding that and website related questions.
“Weaving Movements: Love for the Land”: San Diego Foundation sponsored event was held on Daley Ranch utilizing the restored Ranch House and the grounds surrounding it. Many FODR board members attended. Was an excellent opportunity to both collaborate and hear from key individuals from many different organizations explaining how they are effectively working to connect people with the outdoors. Jim briefly shared at the meeting some of the literature he obtained at the event.
Annual Picnic for FODR Membership: Most of the meeting was focused on the specifics and logistics of successfully sponsoring this event on November 13th. Shuttles, food and beverages, seating and tables, guided nature hike, and a planned presentation by Fred recognizing the individuals and groups that support and help make FODR’s mission statement successful were all discussed. Fred and Colleen will be reaching out to those various individuals and groups to encourage them to attend this event. A brief and informative article regarding the specifics of this event is contained in the Fall Quarterly Newsletter including a request of how to RSVP.
Next Meeting: In addition to the Annual Lunch on November 13th, it was decided to have our next meeting on November 16th at 7:00 p.m. at the Train Depot. This will allow debriefing regarding the November 13th event, and any additional matters that need to be discussed.
