Wilderness Gardens Hike


Join us for a moderate four mile hike at Wilderness Gardens Preserve. Wilderness Gardens is a County of San Diego Park in the San Luis Rey River watershed. The park includes an historic grist mill, small museum, and pond. The hike will include the Upper Meadow Trail which has a steep approach and descent and provides wonderful views of the preserve and the San Luis Rey River corridor. Bring water and sun protection and wear sturdy shoes. Wilderness Gardens charges a parking fee of $3.

Directions: From Valley Center, drive north on Cole Grade Rd to Hwy.76. At the junction of 76 and Cole Grade, turn left/west onto 76. Travel 3.1 miles. Turn left onto Bodie Blvd. There is a sign for Wilderness Gardens. 14209 Hwy 76, Pala, Ca.
