Rules & helpful tips

  • Daley Ranch is open for hiking daily from dawn to dusk.
  • The La Honda Drive entrance to Daley Ranch is the most popular starting point for most hikers, and it offers the least-strenuous trails. Learn more about all three Daley Ranch entrances…
  • Love plants? A helpful plant guide is available at the La Honda Drive entrance. Suggested donation $5.
  • Always remember to wear appropriate clothing, and bring sunscreen and plenty of water. Hats are recommended.
  • Watch out for horseback riders and mountain bikers at Daley Ranch. Hikers are supposed to yield to any horses encountered on the trail. Bikers are supposed to yield to hikers, but some bikers fly down trails without warning at unsafe speeds — stay alert!
  • Dogs on leash are welcome at Daley Ranch (but don’t forget to bring some water for them as well).
